On April 25th, the 2025 Zhuhai International Marine Intelligent Technology Exhibition - Fourth Underwater Unmanned Systems Frontier Technology Forum was successfully held at the Zhuhai International Airshow Center. The forum was organized by the Editorial Department of the Journal of Unmanned Undersea Systems (hereinafter referred to as the Journal), affiliated with the 705th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited. This event brought together over 100 experts and scholars from various universities, research institutes, and technology innovation companies. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the cutting-edge technologies, innovative applications, and future trends of underwater unmanned systems centered around the theme of "Large Model Technologies and Innovative Underwater Applications," injecting new momentum into the development of marine intelligent equipment.

The forum was chaired by Researcher Cai Weijun, Executive Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, with a welcome address delivered by Director Tang Tian, representing the Journal's sponsor. In the morning session, Professor Yan Jing from Yanshan University, Professor Xie Kun from Hunan University, Zhuo Yuzhang, Director of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd./Ascend Solutions, and Researcher Xiang Lu from the 11th Institute of the Sixth Academy of Aerospace Science and Industry delivered reports on topics including "Joint Design of Underwater Network System Detection-Transmission-Control," "Big Data Collection and Analysis for Monitoring Based on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence," "Latest Development Trends of Large Models and Industry Application Landings," and "Quality Assurance Innovation Practices Based on Deepseek," respectively. These presentations sparked a series of in-depth and forward-looking academic exchanges.

In the afternoon session, Associate Professor Qu Juntian from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Professor Liu Xionghou from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Professor Han Xiao from Harbin Engineering University, Researcher Ma Ling from the China Ship Scientific Research Center, and Senior Engineer Yang Jianan from the 705th Research Institute delivered reports on topics such as "Research on Soft Robots for Underwater Intelligent Detection," "Underwater Slow-Moving Small Target Acoustic Detection and Recognition Technology," "Deep-Sea Channel Adaptive Underwater Acoustic Communication Technology," "Parameter Identification of Horizontal Plane Dynamic Models for Deep-Sea Rescue Submersibles Based on Real-Flight Data," and "Research on Cooperative Control Technology for High-Speed Underwater Vehicles Under Weak Connectivity Conditions." The forum atmosphere was lively, with the experts' insightful reports generating enthusiastic discussions and widespread acclaim among the participants.

On April 26th, to further stimulate the enthusiasm of experts and scholars for exploring and building the marine sector, the forum organizers arranged a visit to the Marine Ranch of the Zhuhai Marine Group Haifa Blue Seed Industry Park. The person in charge of the park led the participants on a tour of the breeding and hatchery workshops, providing a firsthand experience of how new productive forces are empowering high-quality development practices in the marine sector.

The deep integration of underwater unmanned systems with large model technologies is set to usher in a new chapter in marine resource development, environmental protection, and national defense security. The Journal, having dedicated itself to the field of underwater unmanned systems in China for over three decades, has always adhered to its mission of fostering academic exchanges and serving engineering practices. It continuously optimizes its knowledge dissemination system, drives academic exchanges through academic conferences, and promotes the conversion of industry, academia, and research achievements by introducing excellent exhibition platforms. In the future, the Journal will continue to deepen collaborative innovation with the academic and industrial sectors, strive to build an open and shared academic ecosystem in the field of underwater unmanned technology, and respond to the national marine power strategy with practical actions, providing strong academic support for enhancing China's independent innovation capabilities in marine equipment.
