To regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) in the creation, peer review, and editing of academic papers, and to safeguard academic integrity and publication quality, the Journal of Unmanned Undersea Systems hereby issues this statement.

I. General Principles

Artificial Intelligence (AI) should serve solely as an auxiliary tool, not as a primary generator. Authors, reviewers, and editors must adhere to the bottom line of academic integrity when using AI tools, ensuring that the core ideas, experimental designs, data analysis, and interpretations of the paper originate from the authors' own in-depth analysis and independent judgment. The journal has adopted the Wanfang Data Wencha System for AIGC detection to ensure the originality and academic integrity of submitted manuscripts.

II. Citation and Disclosure of AI-Generated Content

Authors must explicitly acknowledge the source of any AI-generated content in the manuscript (including but not limited to text polishing, data charts, and data analysis).

• Disclosure Location: Please provide detailed explanations after the main text and before the references, or within sections such as "Methods."

• Disclosure Content: Authors must specify the exact AI tool name and version, the scope and extent of the generated content, and the specific role of AI in the paper's creation. This is to facilitate the assessment of the paper's originality by reviewers and the editorial board.

III. Applicable Scopes and Restrictions of AI Tools

The journal permits the use of AI tools in the following scenarios, subject to corresponding restrictions:

• Literature Search and Keyword Recommendation: AI tools may assist authors in heuristic exploration during topic selection and literature review. However, authors must independently verify all literature for authenticity and accuracy.

• Statistical Analysis and Data Processing: AI tools may assist in statistical modeling and result presentation. However, the raw data used must be collected by the authors themselves, and the analytical results must be validated through alternative means to ensure scientific rigor.

• Language Polishing and Translation: AI tools may assist in improving language expression and translation to enhance readability. However, authors must not directly adopt the writing style generated by AI; the personal or co-authored writing characteristics must be retained.

• Chart Generation and Optimization: AI tools may assist in recommending appropriate chart formats or optimizing chart elements. However, fabricating charts is strictly prohibited; charts must accurately reflect the original data.

IV. Prohibition of AI Tools for Key Academic Work

AI-generated content must not constitute the main research findings or innovations of the paper, particularly regarding core content such as research methods, experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results. AI-generated content must not replace substantive academic and innovative analysis.

V. Statement of Responsibilities

1. Authors' Responsibilities

• Authorship Restrictions: AI tools must not be listed as authors. References citing AI tools as authors are prohibited.

• Content Verification: Authors are required to disclose AI-generated content and verify its accuracy, authenticity, and copyright compliance.

• Ultimate Accountability: Authors bear full responsibility for all AI-generated content in the manuscript and assume corresponding legal liabilities. The name and version of the AI tools used must be noted upon submission.

2. Reviewers' (and Editors') Responsibilities

• Prohibition on Uploading: Reviewers and editors are strictly prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts or review comments to any AI tool.

• Prohibition on AI-Assisted Reviewing: Reviewers and editors must not use AI to generate or assist in generating peer review comments.

VI. Measures for Handling Violations

The editorial board will establish a rigorous peer-review mechanism and reserves the right to conduct long-term tracking and auditing of AI usage in both submitted and published papers. For manuscripts violating the above regulations, the following procedures will be enforced:

1. Rejection: Manuscripts with a suspected AI-generated text proportion of ≥30%, or those with large-scale AI generation in core research content, will be rejected.

2. Revision Required: Manuscripts with a suspected AI-generated text proportion of 15%~30% will be returned to the authors for revision. Authors are required to manually rewrite the AI-characteristic paragraphs and provide detailed disclosures regarding the location and content of AI usage as specified in Section II.
