Journal of Unmanned Undersea Systems is a comprehensive academic journal, which is superintended by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC) and sponsored by Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute and the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, and is now the journal of the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, which is a national-level societ.The journal aims to report the latest scientific research results in the field of unmanned undersea technology and related interdisciplinary basic theories and application technologies at home and abroad, cover both civil and military technologies, prosper academic exchanges, serve engineering practice and promote the development of industry.

The Journal's predecessor, Torpedo Technology, was founded in 1993 and formally renamed Journal of Unmanned Undersea Systems ISSN 2096-3920, CN 61-1509/TJ, CODEN SWXUAJ in 2017; a bimonthly Chinese-language journal, with six issues throughout the year, and the total number of articles published annually is about 120.

The journal is now a core journal of Chinese science and technology, located in the Q3 division of Engineering General Technology Discipline of the World Journal of Science and Technology Influence Index (WJCI) Report (2022), as well as the high-quality scientific and technological journals of China Association for Science and Technology in the field of nautical field of T2 classification, the high-quality scientific and technological journals of the field of weapons science and technology (weapons industry) of the T3 classification, and high-quality scientific and technological journals of the field of naval science of the T2 classification. It has won a number of honours such as Excellent Chinese Science and Technology Journal of Western Science and Technology Journal Alliance, Excellent Innovation Platform, and Excellent Journal of Shaanxi Province.

The target readership of the Journal is engaged in marine engineering, especially in  in the field of unmanned undersea systems technology research, design, production and use of the majority of scientific research, technology and management personnel, military commanders, teachers and students of colleges and universities, as well as readers who love and pay attention to the technology of unmanned undersea systems.Current readers are mainly located in nine countries and regions, including North America, Australia, Western Europe and Asia.

Scope of coverage:

papers on basic research, applied research and engineering technology in the field of unmanned undersea system science and technology, mainly including: unmanned undersea systems related technology, underwater information network/system, underwater acoustic and non-acoustic detection systems, underwater unmanned platforms, underwater pre-positioning systems, unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), underwater weapons, underwater clusters and cross-domain coordination, manned-unmanned coordination and underwater combat systems, covering multiple disciplines such as weapons industry, transportation engineering, electrical engineering and automation, power and energy, mechanics, computer science, control technology, communication and information technology, and other disciplines.
