On December 3, 2023, the "Sixth Summit Forum on Unmanned Undersea Systems Technology and 2023 Summit Forum on Weapons Science and Technology" was successfully held in Kunming. The forum was organized by China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute, co-organized by Aoxiang Key Laboratory, National Key Laboratory of Underwater Information and Control, Key Laboratory of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of Underwater Autonomous Unmanned Systems, and Science and Technology Committee of Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute, and supported by academic media of Journal of Unmanned Undersea Systems and Thermal Processing Technology. Journal of Underwater Unmanned Systems" and "Hot Working Technology" academic media support.

This conference combines the Unmanned Undersea Systems Technology Summit Forum and the Weapon Science and Technology Summit Forum, with the theme of "Unmanned Undersea Systems and Unmanned Equipment Countermeasures", and with the goal of strengthening the integration of discipline construction and technology development, to promote the development of unmanned undersea systems industry, academia, research and integration. Qiu Zhiming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Song Baowei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Wang Junli, secretary general of the Chinese Society of Shipbuilding Engineering, Wang Zhong, director of Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute and chairman of the board of directors of China Shipbuilding Huarai, Zhang Yunfeng, secretary of the party committee and chairman of the board of directors of China Shipbuilding Kunshan Shipbuilding Corporation, Cui Guoping, director of China Shipbuilding's 7,500 test site, and Tang Lidong, deputy director of the Office of Military-Civilian Integration of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, were among the guests attending the forum. The forum also invited representatives from more than 100 universities, research institutes and enterprises and institutions, including National University of Defense Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Aerospace Science and Technology, China Electrotechnology, China Shipbuilding and so on, with a total of more than 300 people gathered together.

The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by President Pan Guang of School of Marine Science and Technology of Northwestern Polytechnical University. Academician Song Baowei, President of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Mr. Wang Junli, Secretary General of China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, and Mr. Wang Zhong, Director of Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute, delivered speeches.

President Song Baowei said that the world is experiencing a great change that has not been seen in a century, and General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in the third collective study of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee this year that the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change are advancing rapidly, the cross-disciplinary integration is developing constantly, and the paradigm of scientific research is undergoing a profound change. Northwestern Polytechnical University, bearing in mind the special care and entrustment of General Secretary Xi Jinping to "closely follow the needs of strengthening the country and the military" and "build the most important weapon of the country and cultivate outstanding talents", is rooted in the western part of the country and devoted to national defense.

Secretary General Wang Junli mentioned in his speech that the forum is organized to further promote the development of China's Unmanned Undersea Systems technology, gradually promote the development and application of new technologies and products, and strengthen the integration and exchange of Unmanned Undersea Systems and its related industries. It is hoped that this event will bring new opportunities for the development of the field of Unmanned Undersea Systems with the help of experts.

Director Wang Zhong pointed out that underwater unmanned confrontation and unmanned countermeasures have gradually become the main way of maritime competition, we should grasp the development of underwater unmanned equipment at the same time, we should study the new technology and tactical methods to confront the countermeasures of the enemy's unmanned underwater equipment, in order to obtain the initiative in the future underwater combat. The theme of this forum is "underwater unmanned equipment and unmanned equipment countermeasures", which aims to promote the deep integration of underwater unmanned aerial vehicle technological innovation and combat application, accelerate the transformation of unmanned equipment science and technology into combat power, and speed up the development of China's unmanned equipment combat power.

Qiu Zhiming, an academician of the CAE Member, Peng Yan, a professor of Shanghai University, Pan Guang, a professor of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Yang Ronggui, a professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Yu Jiancheng, a researcher of Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yu Dianlong, a professor of National University of Defense Technology, Shang Zhigang, a professor of Harbin University of Engineering, and Fan Hui, a researcher of the Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute, respectively focused on cross domain unmanned technology, key technology of ocean unmanned craft, key technology of deep-sea flying wing glider, heat transport and management technology of high-power electronics, "sea whale" light long range AUV technology, acoustic metamaterial sound vibration transmission regulation and acoustic stealth innovative design, exploratory research of air sea cross domain communication, and concept exploration of underwater anti UUV equipment He made theme reports with research directions such as enlightenment, and discussed the development trend and application prospect of technology in the field of underwater unmanned equipment and unmanned equipment countermeasures with participants. The special report of the conference was presided over by Shi Xiaofeng, Director of the Science and Technology Committee of Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute.

The academic exchange session of the forum was hosted by researcher Cai Weijun, Executive Editor of Journal of Unmanned Undersea Systems.  81 articles were included in the electronic proceedings of the forum, and 6 excellent authors from Dalian Maritime University, Xi’an Technological University, Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute, China Electric Science Development and Planning Institute, Xi'an Precision Machinery Research Institute and other units were invited to make academic exchanges on the latest research progress made by their respective teams in the field of Unmanned Undersea Systems.

Until 2023, the Unmanned Undersea Systems Technology Summit Forum has been successfully held for six consecutive sessions. In the future, the forum will continue to focus on industry frontiers and discipline hotspots, further strengthen the integration of discipline construction and technology development, promote the integrated development of the Unmanned Undersea Systems industry and the development and progress of the discipline of weapons science and technology, and make greater contributions to the national defense science and technology innovation and social and economic construction!
