Simulation of Fire Position for Wire Guiding and Wake Homing Torpedo

  • To improve hit probability, a wire guiding and wake homing torpedo needs to enter the target wake with a proper angle. This paper simulates a wire guiding torpedo using the current azimuth guidance method. Based on the simulation result, it discusses the relation between the angle of entering wake and initial angle of enemy board, initial launch range or target velocity, and analyzes quantitatively the influences of the above factors on the entry angle. According to the probability of a wire guiding torpedo entering target wake, effective fire position is obtained and compared with that from the ahead point guidance method, and the effect of fire position on torpedo attack is analyzed.
