Adaptive Nulling Beamforming of Concentric-Ring Arrays

摘要: 离散圆阵是水声工程中的主要阵形之一,研究这一阵列形式下的阵列布放结构与波束形成方法具有重要意义。本文在分析均匀圆阵波束图的基础上,提出了采用双层圆阵来解决均匀圆阵波束图副瓣电平较高等问题,并将双层圆阵应用于自适应零点波束形成。首次将2种稳健的自适应零点波束形成算法即基于特征空间的自适应波束形成算法(ESB)以及能抑制相干干扰的多约束最小方差波束形成算法(MCMVB)在双层圆阵上实现,得到了较深的零陷。仿真结果表明,与均匀圆阵相比,双层圆阵的波束图有较低的副瓣电平,而且能够形成较深的自适应零点。

Abstract: Based on the analysis of the beampattern of a circular array, a concentric-ring array is proposed to solve the problem of higher sidelobe level of the circular array. This paper applies two robust adaptive nulling beamforming algorithms, the eigenspace-based beamformer (ESB) and the multiple constrained minimum variance beamformer (MCMVB), to the concentric-ring arrays, and gets deeper nulling. Simulation results show that the beampattern of the concentric-ring array has lower sidelobe level compared with the circular array, and is effective in formation of adaptive nulling as well. -
